How To Become Self Confident
You can become self confident by raising your personal standards.
Self Confidence can be learned and cultivated over a period of time.
If you were once a confident person and had experiences that traumatized you, please know that you can become your once confident self again.
The first place to begin is by raising your personal standards.
Raising Your Standards Look Like
Improving Your Mindset
There is growth mindset and fixed mindset. A person with a growth mindset believes life happens for them. He or she believes they are able to overcome difficult situations. They are resilient, confident and actively work on learning and becoming better. A person with a fixed mindset believes life happens to them. He or she does not believe they can successfully overcome their difficult times. The person with a fixed mindset often complains, blames others and has difficulty taking radical responsibility for their lives.
Coming out of your comfort zone
You need to do things that make you uncomfortable. Fear can be so paralysing that stepping out of comfort zone seems undoable. The easiest and most practical way to do the things that scare you is to co-regulate. This means to find a support to guide you, to keep you accountable and to stretch you. As you do the work, you get proof that you are safe and have the potential to do the things that scare you. Often times the things that scare you are what you truly want to achieve. Get support via a therapist, coach, support group, a friend who makes you feel safe and is reliable.
Setting boundaries
The reason for setting boundaries is to aid you in managing your energy. There is nothing wrong with saying No to things and people. Setting boundaries allows you to teach people how to treat you. Setting boundaries help form the base of your personal leadership. Remember NO is a full sentence and you are not a bad person for being clear about how you would like to be treated.
Keeping promises to yourself
This means fulfilling and sticking to your action plans. It means committing and staying consistent to your tasks that need to be completed. This means doing what you said you were going to do. Self trust helps you realize you can do hard things, you are consistent and you feel a sense of personal pride and accomplishment. Self trust builds the baseline of self confidence.
Preparation & planning
Preparation and planning are important skills to have. They are extremely useful in both your business and your personal life. The more your prepare, strategize and plan the less self doubt and confusion you have. Clarity boosts self confidence.
Fueling your mind body & spirit
The healthier we feel in our mind body and spirit the more confidence we have. Certain foods impact our moods. Everyone’s body is made up differently. Take time to experiment what food works for your body. Prioritize learning what type of movement makes you feel best in your body. Is it yoga, running, weight lifiting, cross fit, aqua aerobics. You are made up of a mind body and spirit. Take time to cater to each part of your being.
